Trim Levels (Exterior)
The Gladiator is basically the Wrangler with a 5-foot bed attached. It doesn't only feature the same cab, doors, hood, and fenders but, like the Wrangler, also boasts removable doors, a removable soft top or three-piece hard top, and a fold-down windshield. Unlike the Wrangler, however, the Gladiator is only available in one configuration: a crew cab with a 5-foot bed. Four trims are on option: Sport, Sport S, Overland, Rubicon.
The base trim comes with 17-inch black steel wheels, front fog lights, halogen headlights, cargo tie-down loops, all-terrain tires, one rear and two front tow hooks, and a Class II bumper hitch. With the Sport S trim you'll get 17-inch aluminum wheels, and heated and power-adjustable mirrors, while the Overland trim adds 18-inch aluminum wheels, daytime running lights, side steps, tinted windows, and automatic headlights. The off-road-ready Rubicon trim gets 17-inch aluminum wheels, lockable front and rear differentials, 33-inch all-terrain tires, a disconnectable front stabilizer bar, rock rails, skid plates, and Fox shock absorbers.
Engine (Power)
Only one engine is featured with the Gladiator: a 3.6-liter V-6, mated to a six-speed manual, which makes 285 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. You can also opt for an eight-speed automatic transmission, and four-wheel drive is standard.
Performance
If your Gladiator is properly equipped, you'll get a best-in-class tow rating of 7,650 pounds, as well as a best-in-class payload rating of 1,600 pounds. You'll also get good off-road performance from your Gladiator, as all models proudly wear that Trail Rated badge and are equipped with heavy-duty Dana 44 axles, skid plates, and tow hooks. However, if you want superior off-road performance, opt for the Rubicon trim.
The high-strength-steel bed of the Gladiator is durable and equipped with many convenient features. Apart from the standard three-position tailgate and four integrated tie-down loops, you can also opt for a 120-volt outlet, a system of movable cleats, LED bed lighting and a roll-up tonneau cover.
Interior
The Interior of the Gladiator offers respectable head- and legroom for both front and rear passengers. The base trim comes with a basic infotainment system that offers a 5-inch display, eight speakers, a USB port, Bluetooth, and voice control, but higher trims add a 7-inch display and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. With the base trim you'll also get cloth upholstery, a 60/40 folding rear seat, air conditioning, and steering wheel-mounted audio controls, while the Sport S trim adds a leather-wrapped steering wheel, keyless entry, power windows, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror.
The Overland trim features Overland cloth bucket seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, and ambient lighting. As the Rubicon is geared toward off-roading, its interior features are similar to that of the Sport trim, while most of its added features apply to the mechanics and exterior of the car.
