The Jeep Renegade is a small SUV perfect for drivers who want to be in a capable vehicle without all the bulk. The 2019 model arrived with just a few changes, including new fog lights, headlights that come with full LED lights, and new LED light clusters. Jeep also made some changes inside that will appeal to all driver’s including dad. Here are some reasons he needs a new 2019 Renegade.
-
The Exterior Look
The Renegade looks like a Jeep but in a smaller package and with a modern twist. All trims offer the option for the My Sky open-air sunroof, which includes a power vent-and-slide panel along with two large removable panels. Once you remove the panels, there’s a spot inside the vehicle where you can store them so you can take them off and put them on even when you’re out on the road.

The Trailhawk Model
If dad wants to do any kind of off-road driving or just head over rougher terrain, the Trailhawk will get him there. This model adds 17-inch wheels with all-terrain tires, four-wheel drive with low-range settings, and a raised suspension to give the Renegade more room to make it over larger obstacles. It also comes with underbody skid plates, hill descent control, and a full-size spare tire. Inside, there are all-season floor mats. Jeep also offers the option to add several extra packages to the Trailhawk, including the Cold Weather Group and the Premium Leather Group.

The Power
For 2019, the standard engine for the Renegade is a 2.4-liter four-cylinder that generates 180 horsepower and 175 pound-feet of torque. New this year, an optional 1.3-liter turbo four-cylinder is available for the Trailhawk and the Limited. This upgraded powertrain gets 177 horsepower and 200 pound-feet of torque. It comes with an automatic stop-start system along with active aero shutters right in the grille to help increase the fuel efficiency.
-
The Technology
Even dad likes to play with the latest technology, and the 2019 Renegade has plenty. A 5-inch touch screen comes standard with the option for a 7-inch touch screen display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration. With the top three trims, Jeep offers an upgrade to an 8.4-inch touch screen with HD radio and a navigation system. The Limited has a 115-volt power outlet, and satellite radio is available.

The Safety Features
All of the Renegade models come standard with a rearview camera, and all but the Sport offer the option for the Safety & Security package to add blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert. The Advanced Technology Group adds systems such as full-speed forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, and a lane keeping assist system. This also tacks on an automatic parking system and comes with front parking sensors and automatic high beams.
There are many reasons dad needs a new 2019 Renegade. Thanks to the features above, he can take it down the highway, off-road, and around town with the family in style and comfort.
