RAM’s First-Ever EV Pickup
The 2024 RAM 1500 EV will harness a locally-sourced battery’s electric power to achieve an incredible range of up to 500 miles on a single charge. DC fast charging will likely be available, with a faster charging time than other electric trucks on the market. Put simply by RAM’s CEO, this is not the first EV truck, but it will be the best.
Equipped with an electric powertrain for the very first time, the RAM 1500 is expected to be available with a Range Extender System. This is a major asset for drivers making long hauls, especially in rural locations where charging stations are few and far between. This range extending technology is rumored to provide the same range as a traditional gas-powered truck – an impressive feat!
Distinctive Design
The 2024 RAM 1500 EV will have a sleeker body design, sitting lower to the ground and giving off a futuristic vibe. RAM has released a few teaser images that show a lower roofline and steeper windshield, likely to make the electric pickup truck more aerodynamic.
All-black accents, like the lower front bumper and rocker panels, combined with rugged off-road tires ensure this RAM truck looks as adventure-ready as it rides. RAMBOX has been an available add-on for RAM 1500 models since 2018, offering extra storage. More storage options and exciting new accessories are also in the works.
What’s Next for RAM EVs?
The RAM 1500 EV is expected to roll onto car lots in 2024 – with more electric offerings to follow. In fact, RAM will likely release 10 electric pickup trucks by 2025! RAM’s CEO has also introduced the RAM Revolution Program that invites drivers to provide feedback used to further enhance upcoming electric vehicles.
