The Jeep Wrangler is unbeatable when it comes to off-road performance and capabilities. This SUV has everything you need to tackle any kind of ride and almost any terrain. The 2019 model has a few updates, including the addition of some advanced safety features. Discover the rugged durability of the Jeep Wrangler.
The Engine
The engine for all of the Wrangler models is a 3.6-liter V-6 with 285 horsepower. A six-speed manual transmission comes standard, and Jeep offers an optional eight-speed automatic. There is a 2.0-liter four-cylinder available with a mild hybrid system, which gets an eight-speed automatic transmission. When equipped, the two-door Wrangler models can tow up to 2.000 pounds, and the four-door body-styles can tow up to 3,500 pounds.
The Four-Wheel Drive Systems
Depending on the model, there are three different all-wheel drive systems to choose from. The Selec-Trac system will automatically shift from two-wheel drive to four-wheel drive when the conditions demand it. The system will send torque to the wheels that need it and provide continuous traction. The Command-Trac system lets you decide when you need four-wheel drive. You engage it on-the-fly, and it even has a low-range system for rock crawling and towing.
The Roc-Trac System comes standard on the Rubicon and offers the strongest grip available. The off-road transfer case and low gear ratio provides more control and torque to make tackling any terrain a breeze.
Underbody Protection
All the Wranglers come with fortified underbody skid plates to protect all the essential components. Constructed from heavy-gauge steel, these will protect the fuel tank and the transfer case. A skid bar is also standard and will protect the transmission oil pan.
Exterior Features
Depending on the trim level, the 2019 Wrangler has 17-inch or 18-inch wheels. All models come with a front windshield that folds down to give you a better view of the terrain ahead. The updated design is easier than ever to fold down and put back in place when you get back on the road. There is also a new Sky One-Touch Power Top that will fully open the roof with just the touch of a button. You can get even more air while you ride by removing the rear-quarter windows.
The Rubicon
The Jeep Rubicon takes rugged durability to a new level. It comes with 17-inch wheels, off-road tires, and a steel front bumper. It has a Dana M210 front axle along with an M220 rear axle, and it has electronic front and rear lockable differentials. The Rubicon also comes standard with rock rails and an electronic front roll bar. Inside, this off-road-capable model has upgraded cloth upholstery that is still easy to clean. The Rubicon even comes with an extra USB port.
The Jeep Wrangler is one of the most rugged vehicles on the market. Every trim level has the equipment to take you over rough terrain, and if you bump up to the Rubicon, you’ll get hooked up with even more equipment.
