Using industry-leading methods established in conjunction with the Nevada Automotive Test Center, Jeep puts each off-roading SUV to the test. Capability is measured in controlled and natural field trials, plus computer-simulated evaluations.
From challenging terrain to inclement weather, each Jeep must prove its strength and endurance. Only models that meet the strictest standards are given the Trail Rated badge.
The Five Trail Rated Categories:
- Traction: Ensures the Jeep can tackle any terrain with ease, maintaining traction on snow, slick roads, mud and more.
- Ground Clearance: Enables drivers to clear uneven trails and natural obstacles, thanks to great ground clearance and proper approach and departure angles.
- Off-Road Articulation: Keeps three wheels firmly planted when one leaves the ground, maximizing safety at every turn.
- Water Fording: Helps drivers navigate flooded roads and streams, with electrical and body sealing to protect your vehicle.
